墨西哥州立自治大学的简介




Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM) was founded in 1828 as the Literary Institute of the State of Mexico. In 1956 it is consolidated as a public university that aims to generate, study, preserve, transmit and extend universal knowledge and be at the service of society, in order to contribute to the achievement of new and better ways of human existence and coexistence, and to promote a universal, humanistic, national, free, fair and democratic conscience. 
The UAEM has hosted distinguished academics, philosophers and poets, as well as important personalities for the Mexican nation, such as the former President of México Adolfo López Mateos and liberal thinkers as Ignacio Ramirez Calzada and Ignacio Manuel Altamirano.
Among its projects with greater international impact is the development of Network of Scientific Journals of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal, Redalyc, a scientific information system that promotes open access in Latin America.
It is located in the State of Mexico, an entity located in the center of the country and surrounding the city of Mexico. At the international level, the UAEM has liaison offices at: University of Hildesheim (HUS), Germany; University of North Texas (UNT), United States of America; University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), Spain and Manuel Valiente, in Rome, Italy.
